Alpha Compute: Panting, Huffing and Puffing

Telegram is down as I write this essay on September 8, 2026. The principal failures of the distributed system engineered by Pavel Durov (the GOAT or greatest of all time) and Nikolai Durov (the man with two Ph.Ds.) was not available in India, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam, among others. What's affected? Early reports mention the core Telegram mini app and messaging. Is this one more example of the knock on effect of Pavel Durov's arrest, the loss of some core engineers, and the management issues resulting from the GOAT's upcoming criminal trial in France? Tethered GOATs may not be happy GOATs.

Back to the topic of this Telegram Notes post: The panting, huffing, and puffing of Alpha Compute (né AlphaTON Capital). As you know, Alpha Compute purports to be in the AI compute reselling business. It branched out into online games with its interesting acquisition of GAMEE in May 2026.

Among the company's recent actions were:

  1. The company's successful effort to avoid delisting because of the share price falling below the value threshold for Nasdaq-traded companies
  2. The announcement of a "reverse split." A shareholder with 500 shares receives 10 shares. The purpose of this fancy dancing is to boost the share price for the Alpha Compute stock
  3. Crafting a remarkable news release on September 4, 2026.

Let's look at that news release.

The Alpha Compute News Release

The headline is a stunner; to wit:

Alpha Compute Corp. Releases Market Update: Demonstrates Explosive Growth, $1.5B Sales Pipeline, Strong Balance Sheet, Highly Competitive GPU-as-a-Service Pricing. Click here for the source document

Amidst the SEC issue and the reverse merger, the words seem somewhat orthogonal to the situation in which the company finds itself. With Enzo Villani's hands on the controls, Alpha Compute appears to have been focused on procedural and paperwork matters, not depositing client checks in the bank.

But the news release text goes farther; specifically asserting:

Alpha Compute Corp., a technology company scaling global AI infrastructure and digital assets, today issued a comprehensive market update to its shareholders, highlighting its rapidly expanding cash flows, deep sales pipeline, and recent operational milestones achieved over the past 60 days… Fully focused on execution, Company management considers Alpha Compute significantly undervalued relative to its strong balance sheet assets, accelerating annual recurring cash collections, and compelling growth trajectory.

The president of the company, Brittany Kaiser, a former Cambridge Analytica professional, said in the news release:

"Alpha Compute is firing on all cylinders, and our fundamental business has never been stronger… While we cannot control short-term market volatility or the current undervaluation of our stock, we can control our operational execution. With over $1.57 million in monthly recurring cash flows, a newly secured $6.5 million deposit, and a $1.5 billion sales pipeline, the intrinsic value of our balance sheet and revenue streams is undeniable. We have no undisclosed material issues; our sole focus is aggressively closing our pipeline, scaling our AI infrastructure, and delivering transparent, long-term value to our shareholders."

Note, on September 8, 2026, at 11 04 am GMT -4, each share of Alpha Compute was trading at $0.1007. The reverse split's impact seems mild. The share price seems disconnected from the sparkling words in the news release headline and in Ms. Kaiser's interpretation of the financial health of the company.

One of the more striking inclusions in the financial update is a list of "ecosystem relationships." The names of high-profile, financially-significant firms is similar to Animoca Brands' tactic of listing hundreds of firms with which it has a business relationship, investment, or teaming agreement. The names are designed to provide a cocoon of familiarity and performance around somewhat interesting business activities.

The executive chairman and president of Alpha Compute states in the news release:

Our customers are not buying GPUs, they are buying outcomes. Those outcomes depend on everything behind the GPU: the systems, the platform, the facility, the network, the logistics, and the accountability. By establishing these strategic relationships alongside committed engineering support, we provide clients with a unified commercial contract and singular guarantees allowing us to offer competitive pricing and pass those savings to our customers. This framework effectively removes operational deployment risk from client balance sheets, allowing global organizations to reach full production rapidly.

The news release mentions that it is "domiciled in the British Virgin Islands" and has offices in New York, Los Angeles, Miami, Amsterdam, and Toronto. There is no reference to the Las Vegas address used on some of the firm's documentation for the AlphaTON Capital version of the firm.

Observations

Three observations are warranted:

  1. After a hiatus from the flood of marketing chaff released earlier this year, Alpha Compute is wordsmithing with an eye toward clicks and puffing up its credibility
  2. The huffing word choice makes clear that it is work to write in an enthusiastic manner about a company which renamed itself, distanced itself from a Russian connection, and semi-acquired an Animoca Brands' enterprise that was not hitting financial home runs at the time of the deal
  3. The news release pants when talking about what appears to be what I call a science fiction scenario. Last time I checked, the availability of surplus compute was increasing as more capacity comes on line. Excess capacity means greater price competition going forward.

For me, the most interesting facet of Alpha Compute is the deal for the GAMEE property. As I understand what transpired, Animoca obtained a seat on the Alpha Compute board of directors. Animoca retained 40 percent ownership of GAMEE. Animoca Brands cements another link to Telegram-related activities. And, Animoca's Yat Siu expressed an interest in purchasing Alpha Compute 24 months from the date in May 2026 when the deal closed.

Net net: This begs a question, "Is Animoca Brands interested in Ms. Kaiser's wordsmithing or the access to the US capital markets via a purchase of Alpha Compute?" At this time, I would suggest that the access to the US capital markets is the important play. If Animoca's effort to acquire Currenc Group fails, Yat (the boy named) Siu has a Plan B.
